Hi guys. I'm sorry to report another early death of a notable fighter so soon since Mando Ramos. Let's take a moment to honor South Africa's Mike ''The Tank'' Schutte who was a veteran of almost fifty professional fights. He was in the ring with some notable tough guys like
Gerrie Coetzee, Chuck Wepner and Duane Bobick. He died on the fourteenth after 5 years of health struggles. He was 57 years of age. He was a former South African Champion and we know they make them tough there. Falling in line with the tough South African fighter, he was in some notoriously excruciating ring wars with guys like Coetzee and of course, his five fights with Jimmy Richards. Though far from well known here in the states to casual fight fans, he did manage to defeat the semi-famous Chuck Wepner and also Jose ''King'' Roman. After boxing, he did a mish mash of entertaining in wrestling, music and comedy films. He was a pure blood and guts warrior and among the toughest to come out of South Africa. Rest in peace, Mike.
